Create a silent video copy

Remove the audio track from a clip and check the result before sharing.

Audio removal is permanent in the copy

The remove-audio tool creates an MP4 without an audio stream. It does not simply set playback volume to zero. Sound cannot be restored from the silent result; use your original source if you later need it. This is useful for a background clip, a presentation or an edit that will receive a separate soundtrack.

Preview the original first

Choose the file and verify that the video plays correctly. Source playback may still have sound: the removal happens during export. Create the file and check the separate result page. The result should play its pictures without source audio. If you are unsure, open the downloaded MP4 in a second player and inspect its tracks.

Quality and formats

The video is re-encoded as H.264 in an MP4 container. Compression may change file size or soften fine details. Removing a soundtrack does not guarantee that the new file will be smaller because the new video encoding also affects size. The original file is left unchanged, and no media is uploaded to Gomav.

Choose a suitable source

A short landscape clip at or below 1920 × 1080 is a practical first test. The current limit is 100 MB and 10 minutes. A device with limited memory may still fail below those limits. Try a smaller video if the browser runs out of memory or the three-minute processing limit is reached.
